System 01 // Orientation
This is not an online store.
I restore and modify original Xbox consoles for people who plan to actually use them. There is no shopping cart because there is no single standard Xbox build sitting on a shelf with one fixed price.
Every donor starts in a different condition, and every customer has a different display, network, storage plan, controller setup, and reason for owning one.
The point of this site: give you enough information to understand what you actually need before either of us starts talking about a build or a price.
Hamuel lives on the right side of this screen. He is a locally hosted AI assistant running from MeatMan's server. Ask him questions whenever something here does not make sense.
“I only want Rainbow Six” still requires a real Xbox build.
A smaller game library can reduce how much storage you need. It does not remove the work required to make twenty-five-year-old hardware dependable.
The donor matters
Board revision, capacitor condition, corrosion, DVD health, prior repairs, ports, power supply, and storage condition all vary from console to console.
The setup work still exists
Inspection, cleaning, EEPROM backup, storage setup, dashboard/mod configuration, title updates, controller checks, networking, and testing still have to happen.
Most of the work is not “installing a lot of games.” It is turning an aging original Xbox into a system you can reliably plug in and use.
System 03 // Modern Setup
A 2001 console has to live in a 2026 house.
The Xbox itself is only half of the system. Your television, network, and controller choices determine what else is required.
Video
The original Xbox outputs analog video, not HDMI. HDMI-only displays need a proper analog-to-digital solution; component is the preferred source when you want progressive-scan quality.
Network
The Xbox has wired 10/100 Ethernet and no built-in Wi-Fi. Insignia works well, but the physical network path and router still matter.
Controllers
OEM controllers are simple. Modern controllers need protocol translation such as an OGX-Mini; a cable that physically fits is not enough.
There is no useful one-line answer to “How much is an Xbox?”
The answer changes because the build changes. I would rather understand your setup first than hand you a fake universal price that stops being true as soon as we talk about the actual console.
What can change
Donor condition and repair work
Storage size/type
Video hardware
Controllers/adapters
Accessories and shipping
What does not disappear
Inspection and service
EEPROM and software setup
Testing
Making sure the build fits your real setup
The goal is not to sell the most expensive Xbox. It is to build the Xbox that makes sense for what you are actually going to do with it. Play games.
I stand behind the work. You are still adopting old hardware.
The purpose of restoration is reliability, not pretending a twenty-five-year-old console has become a brand-new appliance. If something related to my work fails, I want to know about it and I will help diagnose it.
At the same time, an original Xbox is still a complicated piece of aging electronics. Displays change settings, routers behave differently, adapters fail, and old hardware can develop new problems.
The expectation: you do not need to become an Xbox technician, but you should be willing to communicate clearly and do basic troubleshooting when something unusual happens.
System 06 // Continue
If all of that still sounds reasonable, continue.
The readiness check is short. It confirms that the basic hardware/setup concepts above make sense before the application asks about your television, network, storage, controller preferences, and intended use.
New adoption / build
Take the readiness check first, then continue into the application. The answers help me plan a build instead of guessing.
